DailyAnomaly
A website that makes up a new encyclopedia entry every day and puts it online by itself.
01 Context
DailyAnomaly is a fake encyclopedia that grows by one page a day. Each entry describes an "anomaly" that doesn't exist. An OpenAI model writes the text, a seed decides the random parts, and a layout script turns it into a page. Every page looks a bit different, but they all follow the same structure.
02 Approach
Once a day, an n8n workflow asks OpenAI for a new entry as JSON. That JSON becomes a static page with its own theme, gets committed to GitHub, and is pulled onto the server. I don't have to do anything.
- Every day: a new entry goes live on its own.
- Its own look: layout, fonts and colours are picked based on what the entry is about.
- Seeds: every page has a seed, so it can be rebuilt exactly the same.
- Archive: old entries stay online as static pages.
03 How it fits together
A handful of pieces, each handing off to the next.
| Component | What it does |
|---|---|
| OpenAI | Writes each entry as structured JSON. |
| n8n | Runs the daily job: generate, format, publish. |
| Layout script | Picks the layout and theme from the entry's data and anomaly level. |
| GitHub | Stores the pages. The server deploys from here. |
| Cron + Git | Pulls new pages onto the VPS. |
| Nginx | Serves the pages on dailyanomaly.com. |
